Hi, I’m Nicol!

A little about Nicol…

I am a San Francisco based fitness coach, with 7+ years of fitness coaching experience and who is passionate about helping clients learn proper strength techniques, improve form, and get strong(er).
I specialize in perinatal (pre+postnatal) coaching, mobility+core+strength training for sports performance, and help clients experiencing constant pain in their day to day lives improve posture and reduce/manage pain levels.  Clients who come to me in pain move pain-free or in significantly less pain after working with me. I work with my pre & postnatal moms to get STRONGER safely! Yes, it’s possible!
My training style is form+technique-focused, and research driven. I love cheering clients on, celebrating victories, and supporting their fitness goals in and out of the gym!

US born and Singapore bred, I grew up doing sports - swimming, netball, artistic gymnastics, ballet, synchronized swimming & figure skating. I represented Singapore in Artistic Gymnastics and won gold for floor, beam, and the all around competitions. After retiring from gymnastics at 17, I continued ballet and latin dancing through college and my master program where I majored in Accounting. However, without a coach creating a workout plan for me, I found myself lost at the gym. I didn’t know what exercises to do and how to properly execute them.

After a career in fraud investigations and data analytics which I loved but required me to travel 95% of the time, gaining quite a bit of weight on my petite frame, I felt heavy, weak and easily winded — especially after realizing I could barely hold a 30s plank! — I decided to focus on my health and fitness. I changed jobs, traveled less and built a regular workout routine.

A friend introduced me to Lagree Pilates and I loved the way it trained my full body, especially the core. I got leaner, and more importantly, STRONGER.
In fact, I went so much the studio asked me to be an instructor! Though I initially went in with the mindset of improving my own form, I found a love for coaching and seeing others progress. This led to a full time career spanning from Group Fitness in Pilates, Bootcamps, Circuit training to Personal Training.
My experience in competitive gymnastics, where precision and proprioception is crucial to performing difficult skills with intricate execution, taught me to understand key muscles utilized in movements, target weak muscle groups to strengthen, and most importantly, how to cue it in a way clients are able to comprehend and execute it. And yes, I still do gymnastics (for fun) and am an avid cyclist! I teach both in person and virtual personal training sessions, corporate group fitness, and virtual small group trainings.

I have experience teaching at some of Bay Area’s hottest studios (i.e. Equinox, HitfitSF, F45, Basecamp, Heartcore, Lagreefit415, Core40 etc) as well as run my fitness coaching business.  Blessed and grateful for all of my clients’ support which enable to do what I love, daily.
